The Hours Begin to Sing
Following her debut solo recording with PentaTone – And If the Song be worth a Smile –, Lisa Delan returns to the American composers whose songs she has interpreted so successfully: Bill Bolcom, John Corigliano, David Garner, Gordon Getty, Jake Heggie and Luna Pearl Woolf.
This unusually versatile American soprano, who has been praised for her astounding range from rich operatic tones to Broadway belting, is back with four more premiere recordings, three of which exclusively present compositions written especially for this disc. Assisted by a select cast of soloists, Delan brings to life the words of Dickinson, Yeats, Kinnell, Rumi, Sutzkever and Arnold Weinstein.
