“The Work at Hand” is the second pre-release EP derived from “Unexpected Shadows”, songs composed by Jake Heggie and performed by mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton, cellist Matt Haimovitz, with the composer at the piano. ‘The Work at Hand’ sets poetry by the late Laura Morefield, in which she describes the difficult and deeply human experience of knowing it is time to say goodbye and let go.
